The Dynamos will take on the Eagles this Sunday at the Emirates Durham ICG
The Durham Dynamos will this Sunday take on Essex in the opening match of the Yorkshire Bank 40 competition at the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground.
Previously known as the Clydesdale Bank 40, the limited overs season is set to be another entertaining affair as teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Netherlands fight for the right to play in the Final at Lord’s on the 15th September.
This season sees the Dynamos in Group B alongside last year’s champions Hampshire as well as the first round opponent Essex, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Scotland and Surrey.
The Dynamos will be looking to build on last season where they had mixed results. After winning their first three matches in 2012, the side lost their next three to finish the group stage with five wins and four losses (and two games abandoned due to bad weather) which wasn’t enough to progress to the semi-final stage.
A key figure this season will be wicket-keeper batsman Phil Mustard who last year claimed the Clydesdale Bank40 Player of the Year, an award voted by his peers.
Mustard made 475 runs which included three centuries (one of only three players to do so) and also had16 dismissals.
The match gets underway this Sunday May 6th at 1.45pm at Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground.
