Date of birth - 28 February 1995 Lanark, Scotland
Durham First Class Debut - May 2014 v Nottinghamshire (away)

Injuries and international committments somewhat hindered Gavin Main's progression at county level during 2015.

A Scotland International, Main is considered one of the brightest prospects from north of the border, capable of bowling at a very brisk pace.

And that potential became evident during his first-class debut in May 2014 when he took 3/72 against a strong Nottinghamshire batting line-up, showing great character to come back from an expensive first spell.

Appearances for the Second XI proved limited last year though he impressed when called upon, taking 10 wickets at an average of around 26.

Main went to New Zealand during the winter as part of the Terry Racionzer Scholarship before being called upon for the ICC World T20, playing his part by taking 1/13 in his sole outing against Hong Kong in what turned out to be Scotland's first win at a major tournament.

Along with Calum MacLeod, Main plays his club cricket for Uddingston CC in South Lanarkshire.
